HSE Policy

In order to achieve business success in everything that we do, we need to continuously strive to improve our performance with regards to Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainable Development. To reach this goal, Petro-Unit LLP will maintain the highest possible standards and will not compromise in the areas of Health, Safety and Environmental stewardship.

Through our efforts, we aim to have an HSE performance that we can be proud of, so that we can earn the confidence and trust of our workforce, stakeholders, and society at large. The wellbeing of the communities in which we work is of upmost importance to us, and as such we will constantly strive to be good, beneficial partners with all of them.

We believe that all injuries are preventable and that every employee should be able to return to their family safe and sound. Good health and safety performance is a critical part and focus of Petro-Unit LLP activities. To that end, we are currently developing an integrated HSE Management system which will be used in all “Petro-Unit” LLP activities. We understand that there is no room for complacency, and therefore commitment to continual improvement is essential for ensuring the health and safety of our workforce.

Relevant procedures have been developed and implemented in order to reduce and mitigate any possible risks in Petro-Unit LLP activities. With regards to emergency situations, we have developed an Emergency Response Procedure that can be implemented quickly and effectively.

Company HSE Commitments

Petro-Unit LLP intends to fulfill its commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment by setting and reviewing the following objectives:

  • Issues of Health, Safety, and the Environment are a priority in all of our business activities and we will be proactive in preventing injuries and occupational illnesses;
  • We will manage the operations of our company and our contractors in a way that protects the health and safety of our employees, and ensures the protection of the environment;
  • We will play a leading role in promoting our “best practices” in all Petro-Unit LLP activities;
  • We will proactively identify any potential work hazards to our employees and control the attendant risk adequately;
  • We will minimize the environmental footprint caused by our activities;
  • We will ensure that the main principals of our current policy are followed and we will provide our employees with appropriate and adequate training so that they may perform their duties in accordance to these principals.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy

In order to achieve and maintain success in all that we do as a business, we need to continuously strive to improve our Health, Safety, and Environmental and Sustainable Development performance. To this end, Petro-Unit LLP will not compromise in the areas of Health, Safety, and Environmental stewardship, and as a result will maintain the highest HSE standards.

The company intends to fulfill this commitment by setting and regularly reviewing objectives related to:

  • Considering Health, Safety, and Environmental issues a priority of all of our business activities, in order to proactively prevent occupational illness and injury;
  • Managing all company activities and contractors throughout their life-cycles in a way that protects the health and safety of all employees, and ensures the preservation of the environment;
  • Playing a leading role in promoting “best practices” in all Petro-Unit LLP activities;
  • Identifying potential work-related hazards to employees and controlling the attendant risk appropriately;
  • Minimizing the environmental impact of our business activities;
  • Ensuring that the main principals of the current HSE policy are followed, and that employees are given appropriate and adequate training to perform their work duties competently.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Policy

The health and safety of our employees, colleagues, sub-contractors, clients, and the general population is the primary goal of the Petro-Unit LLP alcohol and drug abuse policy.

This policy has been adopted for the purpose of defining the standards and procedural requirements necessary to maintain a safe work environment, and eliminate any potentially detrimental effects on our business that might arise from alcohol and drug abuse.

Alcohol and drug abuse can result in the following, unacceptable outcomes:

  • Potentially fatal accidents
  • Acceleration of injuries and accidents
  • Absence from work due to sickness
  • Decrease in productivity

General Requirements

  • The use, possession, or distribution of drugs and other controlled substances is prohibited while on the company premises or while engaged in company business.
  • Performing your work duties while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other controlled substances is strictly prohibited.
  • Petro-Unit LLP reserves the right, under the terms and conditions of each employment contract, to perform workplace drug and alcohol testing during work hours in a non-discriminatory and random manner to enforce this policy.

Driver Code of Conduct

  • All speed limits are to be observed and followed as per RoK traffic rules.
  • Seatbelts must be worn by drivers and passengers at all times. If passengers are not wearing seat belts, the driver is responsible for any possible consequences.
  • Mobile phones, including Bluetooth and earphone accessories, are not to be used while the vehicle is in motion.
  • Traffic signs, including overtaking restrictions, must be observed and followed at all times.
  • If it is necessary to stop along the main site road, stops must be made in designated areas or at road pockets only.
  • Drivers must keep their vehicles clean and in the best technical condition at all times
  • Drivers must respect and follow the company Alcohol and Drug Abuse policy at all times
  • It is prohibited for drivers to make long, night time trips, especially in winter conditions
  • In the case of an emergency stop or breakage, stop vehicle at the rightmost side of the road, turn on emergency lights, position emergency triangle at the required legal distance, and seek assistance from traffic-enforcement officers to ensure that the location of the vehicle does not pose as a risk to other drivers.
